PCN PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATE, LOCUM – BASILDON, ESSEX
Roles & responsibilities
- In accordance with the rota, as agreed, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including consultations (f2f and telephone)
- following up on results, paperwork, and correspondence
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/ interventions for the care of patients presenting with undifferentiated acute and chronic conditions.
- Make autonomous decisions about the appropriate management of presenting problems for conditions within competency for a Physician Associate.
- Work within your Own level of competence referring to a GP or other health professional when appropriate.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
- Provide information and advice on prescribed, or over-the-counter medication, medication regimens, side effects and interactions within PA competency
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease follow disease management protocols and develop care plans.
- Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.
- Referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Show awareness of practice prescribing formulary and NICE/BNF prescribing guidelines when recommending medication for a patient
- Proactive actions to ensure local and national contracts such as QOF, IIF, and ECF data maximized including appropriate completion of templates during consultations
Salary
£36/hr for normal working hrs (Mon-Fri 09:00-18:30)
£40/hr for enhanced access (Mon-Fri 18:30-20:00 and Sat 09:00-17:00)
Qualifications
- Postgraduate Physician Associate qualification
